About Urja
I started my working life in classrooms, not counselling rooms. Years of working with young children, including children who learn and grow differently, taught me how much a child's world depends on the calm, connection and understanding of the adults around them.
That led me to counselling and parent coaching. I have around four years of experience working with parents. Today I help parents build closer, calmer relationships with their children, and help adults make space for themselves in busy lives.
My work is mindfulness-based and practical. I don't diagnose, and I don't believe in quick fixes. I believe in small, steady steps, the Kaizen way, and in slowing down enough to notice what is actually happening, so you can respond rather than react.
I work with adults, as individuals and as parents, in groups and one to one, in English and Hindi.
How I work
Slow and steady. We work at a pace your life can hold. Small changes, practised often, last longest.
Mindful. We pause, notice and name what is going on before deciding what to do about it.
Practical. You leave each session with something to try at home, at work or with your family.
